Appeasement = the act of giving in to someone in order to prevent a conflict. Neville Chamberlain (British Prime Minister) favored this.

Nuremburg laws = laws in Germany that put restrictions on Jewish people.

Pearl Harbor = Surprise attack by the Japanese Navy against the U.S. naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The U.S. enters the war against the Axis powers after this event.

Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression Pact = agreement between Hitler and Stalin to split up Poland and not attack each other.

Operation Barbarossa = Hitler breaks the Nazi-Soviet Nonagression Pact by attacking Russia. He fails to take over Russia (He's like Napoleon!!).

Holocaust = genocide of millions of Jewish, Polish, gypsy, and "non" Aryan peoples by the Nazis during World War II.

D-Day = Largest sea invasion force ever assembled. American troops open up a second front against the Nazis in Normandy, France.

Nuremburg Trails = Several high ranking Nazi officers are put on trial for war crimes committed during the Holocaust.
