Europeans start exploring ways to the west to avoid the Ottoman middle men. They developed many new inventions to help them explore the seas including the Astrolabe and Caravel.

Exploration directly leads to imperialism. The European countries that explored the world looked to create colonies to support their mercantilism economies. Mercantilism is an economic system where the mother country wants to export more goods than the import, they take natural resources from their colonies and produce them into finished products.

Capitalism now fully replaces feudalism in Europe.

As colonies start to be created in the Americas, the slave trade develops. The Middle Passage was the trade route from Africa to the Americas that saw millions of African slaves get sold to colonies there. This destroyed African societies.
