Buddhism is a philosophy started in India. It has since spread all over the world but is most prelavent in eastern and southeastern Asia. Buddhists do not pray to any gods, instead they attempt to achieve enlightenment by meditating. Anytime you see the following words, you should think of Buddhism.

Buddha - Buddhism was founded by the Siddhartha Gautama or the original Buddha.

Eightfold Path - The path that a follower of Buddhism takes in order to rid themselves of suffering.

Noble Truths - The 4 Noble Truths are the basic doctrines of Buddhism. They deal with the origin of suffering and how to eliminate it from one's life.

Nirvana - The end goal of Buddhism. When one's soul achieves enlightenment, they achieve nirvana or ultimate peacefulness removed from suffering.
